Fundación Astra was born from the encounter between Dr. Nancy Harris, President of Terma Foundation, and a group of local professionals who were deeply committed and motivated by a common goal: to support vulnerable families who have been excluded from the healthcare system in Baja California Sur.
We are a coalition of Mexican and international professionals working collaboratively to promote a comprehensive, sustainable, and community-focused model of care. Our commitment is to strategically address the emerging health challenges that affect the state’s most vulnerable communities.
The diversity of our experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds forms the foundation of our institutional values: quality care, community service, respect, cultural sensitivity, and professional competence. These principles guide us to provide comprehensive, accessible medical care tailored to the real needs of each individual, always acting with integrity and empathy.
Terma Foundation, a non-profit organization based in California, has promoted and developed culturally relevant community health programs in marginalized populations around the world since 1999. It has worked with indigenous communities in Tibet, Brazil, and Myanmar, implementing services focused on infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and nutrition.
